ISF 2025: From Global Forum to Collective Action

Jakarta, 11 October 2025 – The Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2025 commenced with a strong collaborative spirit. ISF 2025 serves as a platform that transforms dialogue into commitment and vision into collective action. The forum accelerates sustainable growth that benefits both people and the planet by bringing together leaders and innovators.

ISF 2025 marks a pivotal moment for Indonesia to reaffirm its central role in advancing the global sustainability agenda. On the first day, a series of thematic discussions and strategic dialogues addressed key issues such as water resilience, agricultural productivity, the blue economy, net-zero carbon emissions, climate and global trade, waste management, the new energy transition, and clean air.

Rachmat Kaimuddin, Deputy for Basic Infrastructure Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in realizing tangible sustainable development.

“ISF 2025 demonstrates that Indonesia is not only hosting a global forum but also leading collective action toward sustainable development. Our goal is to ensure that every commitment made at this forum translates into real action. Through cross-sector collaboration, we accelerate sustainable growth and bring together leaders and innovators to invest in a better future. By strengthening green infrastructure and increasing total sustainable investment, we are building a resilient, sustainable, and prosperous future for Indonesia and the world,” said Rachmat Kaimuddin.

From an investment perspective, Deputy for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Nurul Ichwan noted that the event provided valuable insights from distinguished speakers.

“The objective of ISF 2025 is to provide a collaboration platform that brings together various sectors, government, businesses, international stakeholders, and academia to work on tangible actions rather than mere slogans. The government is committed to developing infrastructure that promotes sustainability, while ensuring the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM plays a key role in facilitating sustainable investment in Indonesia,” said Nurul Ichwan.

Shinta Kamdani, the Coordinating Vice Chair for Human Development, Culture, and Sustainable Development at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), underscored the vital role of the business sector in accelerating green transformation and supporting the national low-carbon development targets.

“ISF represents an important opportunity to strengthen the role of the business sector as a catalyst for achieving a green economy. The transition to sustainable development cannot be accomplished by the government alone. It requires collaboration across sectors to ensure that today’s investments genuinely benefit both people and the planet. Through this forum, we aim to encourage businesses to actively contribute to accelerating the transition toward inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economic growth for future generations,” said Shinta.

Over 10,000 registered participants and 187 journalists from national and international media outlets attended the first day of ISF 2025. The program includes plenary sessions, thematic discussions, high-level dialogues, and an exhibition featuring a science corner showcasing sustainable research innovations from leading Indonesian universities such as Universitas Indonesia (UI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), and Gadjah Mada University (UGM). One of the highlight sessions, the High-Level CEO Dialogue, is facilitated by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and attended by over 30 global CEOs from various sectors, including industry, energy, and finance.
