A Factory of Meiloon, Taiwan-based Audio Firm Moved Out to Indonesia.

 

Meiloon, a Taiwanese audio system manufacturer has officially relocated its factory from China to Indonesia, which is located in Subang, West Java.

This company, which previously was located in Suzhou, Jiangsu province in China, is one out of seven companies that have already committed to relocate their factories to Indonesia. In order to the disruption that China facing caused by the covid-19, many firms are doubting their reliance on China.


According to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) the company is promised to invest $90 million and to employ more than 8,000 Indonesian workers.


As recorded, Meiloon has become the first company that commenced the investment by construction of the facilities before the business license has been issued, with the special assistance from BKPM. “This should be the reflection for other regions too” stated Bahlil Lahaldalia, Chairman of BKPM.

Bahlil has mentioned the priority of Meiloon will be to local workers and suppliers of raw and intermediate goods.


According to BKPM, 199 companies are currently considering to develop their businesses in Indonesia, with the total potential investment of $41.4 billion which will create around 162,000 jobs opportunities.
