Indonesia TTI Forum 2025 Showcases Indonesia’s Investment, Trade, and Tourism Potential in Washington D.C.

Washington D.C., September 9, 2025 – The Indonesian Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) New York, in collaboration with Bank Indonesia (BI) New York and the Trade Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington, D.C., organized the Indonesia Tourism, Trade, and Investment (TTI) Forum 2025 as a platform to promote Indonesia's economic potential on a global scale. With the theme “Business Beyond Borders, Culture Beyond Compare,” the forum focused on five priority sectors, namely healthcare, education, technology, tourism, and manufacturing.

The forum, opened by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to the United States, Nidya Kartikasari, aims to strengthen trade and investment relations between Indonesia and the United States. Nidya sees the economic potential of both Indonesia and the U.S., based on each country’s population and natural resources, as a strong foundational asset.

“With a population of 280 million people, abundant natural resources, a continuously growing digital ecosystem, and significant structural reforms, Indonesia is a market full of potential for American businesses and investors. All these factors naturally open new opportunities for investment and trade cooperation,” she said.

As the main speaker, the Director of IIPC New York, Tessal Febrian Maharizky, provided an update on the investment climate in Indonesia, including procedures for investing, available incentives, immigration facilities such as Indonesia’s Golden Visa for major investors, and the implementation of Government Regulation (PP) No. 28 of 2025 on Risk-Based Business Licensing (PBBR). Tessal also highlighted the growing trend of U.S. investment in Indonesia.

“Investment from the United States continues to grow and is now approaching USD 15 billion, although the mining sector still dominates,” he explained.

At the same event, the Chief Representative of Bank Indonesia New York, Wahyu Agung Nugroho, highlighted the outlook of the global economy and Indonesia’s economic resilience amid rising uncertainties. Despite a global economic slowdown, particularly in the United States, Indonesia continues to demonstrate strong performance with solid economic growth, low inflation, and a stable exchange rate.

“Indonesia’s domestic demand-driven economic structure and strategic trade relations help the country maintain economic stability,” said Wahyu.

During the business panel session, the Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy, Adis Ranitya Kusumadewi, presented that Indonesia’s exports to the U.S. have reached USD 28 billion annually, with palm oil being the main export product. Adis also invited participants to attend the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), which will be held on October 15–19, 2025, in Indonesia, as part of the Business Mission from the U.S. to Indonesia scheduled for October 11–18, 2025. The mission’s agenda includes visits to Special Economic Zones (SEZs), creative industry hubs, and meetings with business players in three provinces.

The forum was attended by various business associations, such as the Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) and the American Spice Trade Association (ASTA), as well as other American companies based around Washington, D.C. The business panel concluded with a discussion and one-on-one business consultations with IIPC New York, Bank Indonesia New York, and the Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy.
